I wanted to be able to guide myself...

Music has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember. It is like a guide that accompanies me in a complex world. As a 4-year-old boy, I loved to sing Armenian songs. But singing a cappella or depending on others for musical guidance did not please me. I wanted more. I wanted to be able to accompany myself!

The versatility of the piano attracted me because a piano is an orchestra in itself. Also, the beautiful piano music written by the greatest composers we know touched and touch me deep inside. When I was seven years old, I took my first seat behind the piano. That was a magical moment and the start of my spiritual journey as a person and as a musician. Not only did I learn a tremendous amount from the many extraordinary teachers who accompanied me on this journey. They still inspire me every day.

It is their guidance and the inspiration they have given me that I hope to pass on to the next generation of master pianists. Playing the piano allows young people to express their feelings. They can unleash their imagination and creativity. And develop skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Discovering new talent can feel like finding a nugget of gold among the sand. I believe that every student has unique qualities within them, which we can discover and further develop together. A special adventure, a special journey on which I love to guide young talents with the same passion with which teachers used to guide me.

Training

I started my piano education between 2009 and 2022 in my native Armenia at the Arno Babadjanyan Pedagogical College of Music. In 2011 I moved to the Netherlands and a year after that move I was admitted to the preliminary course at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. In 2017, I continued my studies at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and completed my studies there, with great passion, commitment and dedication.

During my career, I have been taught by the best piano teachers. In Armenia from, among others, the rector of the Komitas State Conservatory Vagharshak Harutyunyan, Roza Tandelyan (the only living student of the famous Armenian Composer Arno Babadjanyan) and Anahit Nersisyan (professor of piano). And in the Netherlands I have taken lessons from Leonard Leutscher, Ksenia Kouzmenko, Ellen Corver, Frank Peters, David Kuyken, Naum Grubert and master pianist Ralph van Raat (contemporary music).

After college, I immersed myself in entrepreneurship and teaching. I have an abiding fascination about how people learn. That is why I have worked for the past 5 years to develop a new innovative piano method. Students are taught with that method in my practice and the series will soon be available worldwide.

I still get piano lessons and various other coaching because I like to develop myself. These are the subjects in which I specialized more after my studies besides classical piano and performing musician: Music theory, solfège, music production, pop and electronic music, composition, entrepreneurship and teaching.

I believe that as a human being you are never out of development and learning. I am currently taking piano lessons with Bulgarian master pianist Marietta Petkova and am engaged in various studies and research on how people learn. These studies are all related to my pursuits as a performing musician, music producer, composer and teacher. So that the lessons of Young Piano Talent meet international standards and norms!

Qualifications

During my studies at the Arno Babadjanyan pedagogical music college and then the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, in addition to my major in Classical Piano and theoretical subjects, I spent two years working on the Education Minor.

Within this specialization, I focused on teaching with topics such as didactics, child psychology, teaching skills and methodology. I graduated on the topic of effective study with the final comment "We see a promising piano teacher in you!". I am quite proud of that.
