I wanted to be able to guide myself...
Music has been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember. It is like a guide that accompanies me in a complex world. As a 4-year-old boy, I loved to sing Armenian songs. But singing a cappella or depending on others for musical guidance did not please me. I wanted more. I wanted to be able to accompany myself!
The versatility of the piano attracted me because a piano is an orchestra in itself. Also, the beautiful piano music written by the greatest composers we know touched and touch me deep inside. When I was seven years old, I took my first seat behind the piano. That was a magical moment and the start of my spiritual journey as a person and as a musician. Not only did I learn a tremendous amount from the many extraordinary teachers who accompanied me on this journey. They still inspire me every day.
It is their guidance and the inspiration they have given me that I hope to pass on to the next generation of master pianists. Playing the piano allows young people to express their feelings. They can unleash their imagination and creativity. And develop skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Discovering new talent can feel like finding a nugget of gold among the sand. I believe that every student has unique qualities within them, which we can discover and further develop together. A special adventure, a special journey on which I love to guide young talents with the same passion with which teachers used to guide me.
